This program is designed specifically for health professionals who hold an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) and are now ready to further their education and careers in the health care system. Health Services is an interdisciplinary program that provides the knowledge and skills needed for management-oriented leadership positions. Areas of study include, but are not limited to, program planning and evaluation, management, finance and marketing, safety education, public health administration, and health biostatistics. Students benefit from classes developed and taught by ISU faculty who have a diversity of specialties. All courses are offered online. On-campus visits are not required. Entry RequirementsTo be admitted to the online learning program in health services, the applicant must be admitted to the University as a degree-seeking student and satisfy the following: 1. Completion of an associate of applied science (A.A.S.) from a regionally accredited institution in a health-related program, including but not limited to: dental hygiene, health care support, health information technology, medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, neurodiagnostics, surgical technology therapeutic massage, paramedic science, and radiology. 2. The program combines education and experience in both technical and managerial skills to prepare students for leadership roles in the construction profession. With its comprehensive, management-oriented focus, the program helps students understand the impact of construction on the environment and society and prepares students to be leaders in this exciting field. The bachelor of science in construction management includes a 90-credit major plus 30-36 credits of foundational studies (general education) for a total of 120-126 credits. The student may or may not need the additional 6 credits beyond 120 depending on whether they have qualified high school or transfer language credit hours. Previously earned college credit can be applied toward completion of the program per these transfer guidelines. The program provides instruction in: building design and planning; environmental control systems; principles of quality concrete and the proper techniques used in the field; project management, including construction costs, budgets, bids, critical path scheduling, inspection, manpower utilization, and cost control; theories of forces in building structures; and use of tapes, levels, and transits to layout structures, determine elevations, and locate boundaries. Courses in the major are developed and taught by full-time professors who have work experience in the field. Students gain real-world experience through participation in the Co-op/Internship Program, which provides actual work experience. The program can be completed in four years (full time) if the student follows this program of study. Students also have the option of part-time study. The Construction Management Program is open to eligible in-state and most out-of-state students Entry Requirements1. Completion of the Indiana Core 40 high school curriculum (or equivalent for non-Indiana graduates) with a grade point of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. 2. Indiana high school graduates must have passed both the mathematics and English sections of ISTEP or receive an official waiver from their high school. EXCEPTIONS: Indiana Core 40 (or equivalent) not required if high school diploma was awarded prior to 1998. ISTEP not required if high school diploma was awarded prior to 2002. Acceptable GED scores may be submitted to satisfy admission requirements listed above.
