Show More It is designed especially for those working in the field of English as a second/foreign language and has modules in language description, in pedagogy and in specialist-related fields with this audience in mind. The distance study version is equivalent of the campus based version in content and assessment. You may choose to study some modules on campus, some by distance study but there are no compulsory campus-based components for the distance programme. The programme includes general core modules in Discourse Analysis, English Grammar, Pedagogical Phonetics and Phonology, Second Language Learning Principles, and Language Curriculum Design. Students then choose from a range of pedagogically-oriented options, followed by either a dissertation or further options. Specially written materials are provided for distance study, and tutorial support is available by phone, fax and e-mail. Use is also made of Blackboard, the University's virtual learning environment. Entry RequirementsApplicants should normally have a good relevant university degree and two years' full-time experience in teaching English as a second or foreign language. The rationale behind this supply response is that the programme will contribute to the augmentation of the knowledge and skills base of the industry and ultimately lead to the optimal, sustainable use of oil and gas resources. This programme studies the combination of legal, environmental and economic considerations which lie at the heart of the oil and gas industry. You will take modules from the School of Law, School of Economics, Politics and International Relations, School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, Henley Business School, School of Construction, Management and Engineering and School of Geography and Environmental Science. Students on the LLM Oil and Gas must take three compulsory modules (Oil and gas contract law, Legal issues in oil and gas and Project skills) and undertake an independent project, written on a topic which has a meaningful relationship to issues of oil and gas law. The remaining credits can be chosen from the list of optional modules. In the LLM in Oil and Gas Distance Learning students choose amongst a smaller list of optional modules all of which are offered on a long distance basis.
