The programme is designed for working professionals wanting flexible, part-time study to fit around their careers. Students are taught online through our Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) by our experienced tutors. Entry RequirementsA first degree (UK 1st or 2nd Class or equivalent) in a numerate study discipline such as electrical power systems, electronic engineering, telecommunications, physics or mathematics. Access route For those without a degree the minimum qualifications acceptable for admission are: (a) Membership by examination of a recognised professional institution of at least associate or graduate status; or (b) a recognised college diploma or service college qualification; (a) or (b) must be coupled with either: At least 2 years relevant experience in industry, in teaching or in a government establishment; or the successful completion of a preliminary course acceptable to the board of studies. Non-graduate applicants who meet the entry requirements will initially be enrolled on the access route. This route comprises the first two units of the full MSc programme. Entrants achieving the required standard in these two units and who wish to continue with their studies will be allowed to apply to register as candidates for the MSc. English language requirements The language of study for the course is English. The University's minimum requirement for non-native English speakers is 6.5 in the IELTS test (at least 6.0 in each of the four components) or PTE Academic 62 with no less than 59 in any component.
