Show More As our School name suggests, Medicines Management has been at the top of our agenda since its inception in the early 1990s. Now it is at the top of the national pharmacy agenda. Our Clinical Pharmacy programme for hospital pharmacists was first established in 1981, and we are proud of our high completion rate. We are continually updating the programme to meet the changing requirements of the health service and individual practitioners. We are happy to put you in touch with some of our former students for their independent view. It is highly acclaimed by students, employers, purchasers and external course assessors for its structure, content and end value in relation to service, professional and career development. Our distance learning programme in Clinical Pharmacy for hospital pharmacists aims to provide you with a wider view of health care, and equip you with sufficient knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to develop and extend your clinical and professional role as part of a multidisciplinary health care team. In the fast changing world of Pharmacy and health care provision, standing still is not an option, but you may, understandably, feel under-equipped to meet the new challenges. Show More This is one of the longest established MBA Education courses in the UK. It is designed to serve the needs of middle, senior and aspiring managers in local authorities, schools, FE colleges, universities, Learning and Skills Councils, and related public and private sector organisations. The programme recruits students from LEAs, FE, HE, Ofsted and schools as well as from overseas. It is a freestanding course but can be used as a steppingstone to the PhD and EdD courses, also offered at Keele. Our MBA Education incorporates the standard ingredients of a ‘business school’ MBA but, importantly, places it within an educational framework: it is not a Master’s course in education in disguise! The course covers the practical and theoretical aspects of management/business administration - allowing you to assess the value and relevance of business and organizational concepts to your own professional education situation. A number of our tutors also lecture on other MBA programmes and, in addition, have a background in and commitment to researching the education service. Entry RequirementsEach of our courses is, under normal circumstances, open to people with a good honours degree (or equivalent) plus appropriate professional training and / or experience: such applicants are usually eligible for direct entry. Applicants with appropriate professional experience would also be considered for direct entry. Other applicants would be considered on an individual basis. Other FeesNotesInternational students can take course only in full time mode. |

Show More The education team within the School supports critical and independent enquiry into leadership, management, learning and teaching that draws on social science perspectives and debates. It supports research that aims to improve the experiences of all participants in education and has a very successful track record of providing continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for education professionals, whether practising teachers or educational managers. This MA has been designed to complement other education programmes run within the School. Specifically it addresses the issues in the National CPD Capacity Building Strategy being developed by the DfES and the Training and Development Agency, providing serving teachers with professional development and accreditation opportunities. The modular programme allows flexibility in that participants may take single modules, or build modules into recognised awards (Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and MA). Delivery is through a combination of self-study materials and one day taught sessions for each module enabling sharing of ideas and good practice. In certain circumstances there are opportunities for school-based delivery on core modules that has proved successful in the past and is in line with current TDA thinking.
