Show More The MA in Education is available as a fully online programme for UK and overseas teachers. There are optional face to face action learning workshops available in Carlisle, Lancaster and London. The MA in Education programme develops participants as practitioner researchers and change agents by providing a framework for professional development. The programme is designed for teachers, lecturers, professional development facilitators, learning support staff, leaders and those with wider roles within adult education and training and the children’s workforce. The programme aims to build knowledge and skills in critical engagement with professional and research literature and the use of systematic enquiry as a powerful, ethical approach to leadership and change in educational settings to raise the achievement and progress of all learners. The programme enables participants to focus on their specialist areas or current priorities at work by choosing the focus for their assignments within the broad content area of each module and by providing some choice of modules. Entry Requirements1st or 2nd class honours degree. Students with other qualifications may be admitted to the course via APL procedures. Applicants would normally be currently employed in an educational setting, responsible for the learning of others, or have access to an educational setting. UK based participants joining the programme who are not already working in an educational setting are required to gain DBS clearance, as they will need to access educational settings for their research and enquiry during the programme.
