Enroll for the full conversion degree or register for modules on an individual basis This conversion degree in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is designed to offer an academic and professional development opportunity for non-graduate professionals within the sector. There are two distinct routes within the programme. You can commit to the full conversion degree and register to study six modules in one year or take a modular continuing professional development (CPD) route, registering for one module at a time and taking up to five years to achieve the required 120 credits. Entry RequirementsTo join this programmeyou will need an Initial Teacher Training award in Post Compulsory Education (or Further Education, Lifelong Learning or similar title). The award must provide a minimum of 120 credits at Level 4, e.g. a Certificate of Higher Education or the Diploma in Teaching in Lifelong Learning and Skills. This ITT award may be FENTO or LLUK endorsed. A further 120 credits at Level 5 must have been achieved through an appropriate Foundation Degree, i.e. one clearly related to teaching, training, lifelong learning, coaching and mentoring or similar. Candidates will also require GCSE English (or equivalent) at grade C or above. However, if you have completed a CertHE endorsed by LLUK since 2007 you will have achieved the Minimum Core of Language and Literacy and this will provide equivalence. If you are choosing the modular CPD route you must be working within the lifelong learning or secondary sectors of education. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of the ability to study at Level 6. This could include a CV and personal statement at the point of application. Should you not be employed at the point of application, candidates will need to undertake a professional practice placement, a medical, and be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, previously CRB) Enhanced Disclosure. If you are in employment, confirmation of medical clearance and DBS Enhanced Disclosure will be required from your employer.
