Show More This innovative course builds upon a successful programme that has run since 2000. The MSc combines multiple routes that lead to qualifications enabling students to practice at higher levels as consultant midwives, clinicians, managers or teachers (UK as well as overseas). The course meets Nursing and Midwifery Council requirements for midwife teachers (dependent on modules undertaken). Students may access the course on site or by distance learning and it is available to both UK based and overseas midwives. All course material can be applied to different cultural needs of parturient women.
The course provides a programme that will promote women's health and has the potential to reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity. Modules are taught by well respected experts within their field focusing on the normality of midwifery practice as well as variations of normality. Entry RequirementsA minimum of a degree in a health related subject obtained within the last 10 years. Applicants who do not meet this requirement may be considered for entry to the programme if they can demonstrate their ability to engage in study at this level through accreditation of previous learning and experience.
