Show More The Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies provides the opportunity for mature adult learners to individualize their college education by creating a degree program that includes the study of two disciplines. Working closely with an advisor, a student forms a program of study that most effectively supports his or her desired goals. The degree requires 180 total quarter hours, 40 of which must be at the upper division (300/400) level. A minimum of 25% of credit hours must be completed through Sullivan University. Up to 75% of the degree requirements can be met via a combination of credits transferred from other institutions and through prior learning assessment (credit by examination, credit for military/corporate training, and/or credit by portfolio). Possible concentration include (but are not limited to): Accounting, Finance, Health Care Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resource Leadership, Justice & Public Safety Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Management, or Marketing. Once completed, the B.S.I.S. provides a degree that students can use to pursue further academic study, including a master’s degree or a terminal degree such as a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. It provides students with prior credit hours from another institution the opportunity to apply them toward a college degree without losing the progress they have already made. Sullivan’s program also allows students to pursue a degree in two areas of concentration but only five courses are needed for each to satisfy the requirement. This degree is designed for students who typically have received college credits from another institution and can apply those credits toward a broadly based degree with two areas of concentration. It also fits well for students who may not want to concentrate in a single area of study. Entry RequirementsStudents wishing to enter the baccalaureate division must have an associate degree from Sullivan or another accredited institution or have already earned approximately 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours.
