Online Health Promotion Degree :: Accredited Universities

This is a three-year course that provides students with the knowledge and skills required to work in areas of health promotion, community health development, Indigenous health, and health services management. The course also offers a specialist stream in occupational therapy designed to provide a pathway into the Master of Occupational Therapy offered by Flinders University.

The course has an emphasis on understanding the challenges of working in diverse contexts of urban, rural and remote communities. It also offers an ongoing pathway for VET graduates. The course units provide the prerequisite knowledge and skills for graduate programs in allied health, public health and medicine.

The course will have a range of flexible multi modal delivery options that will include workshops, Learnline, face-to-face delivery and external.

Timely psychological interventions can improve and promote the health of individuals, communities, and organisations. An understanding of human behaviour enables students to address individual, family, community, and organisational mental health issues and the factors that impact on normal functioning.

The Psychology major offers students the opportunity to appreciate and critique the contributions psychological research makes to the evaluation of health, health status, and health promotion. In addition, students will learn to adopt an evidence-based approach to problem-solving and decision-making as they relate to the interface between mental and physical health.

There are no special entry requirements beyond those that qualify you for study at University. Computer literacy is recommended. If you do not have a Science or Mathematics background, you can get a head start in your studies by taking foundation papers in Science or Mathematics.
