Show More The M.S. degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Applied Meteorology is designed for individuals with meteorological, environmental, or hazards-related careers worldwide. The program was developed in consultation with representatives from the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), the Cooperative Program for Operational Meteorology, Education and Training (COMET), the National Weather Service and the Caribbean Weather Service. The 12-course, 36-credit hour program of study includes specialized courses in meteorology, climatology, GIS and hazards. The Applied Meteorology Program (AMP) is reputable, accredited, and flexible. All of the courses are taught online with the exception of the final capstone course workshop. The capstone course is designed around an 8 - 10 day workshop that is hosted at Mississippi State University during the summer semester. Entry RequirementsTo be admitted to the Applied Meteorology Program (AMP), one must hold a bachelor’s degree in a natural science from a four-year educational institution that has unconditional accreditation from a regional accrediting agency.
