The Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership focuses on the frontiers, dynamics and foundations public leadership, especially in the nonprofit business environment. It combines theoretical and practical perspectives with rigorous commitment to academic excellence. Students in the MPA program that want to customize their education to their specific career goals, also have the option of selecting an individualized set of electives from the areas of accounting, leadership, and computer science. Graduates will be prepared to manage people, be able to analyze the political sources of public policy and political behavior, conduct research, understand principles of finance and budgeting and be able to apply the ethical standards of law to policy process.

All credits used for GPA calculation must be from a regionally accredited institution.
Option Two A GPA between 2.5 and 2.99 calculated over the most recent graded 30 semester (45 quarter) credits completed in either a baccalaureate or post baccalaureate program, including credits earned toward a credential. All credits used for GPA calculation must be from a regionally accredited institution. A satisfactory score on an accepted graduate admissions exam is required. - Graduate Record Exam (GRE): achieve the required minimum scores on two out of three of the subsections of the GRE. The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education focuses on building the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to provide high quality, inclusive early care and education for children ages birth to eight in a variety of settings. Culture, equity and diversity are embedded throughout the program in addition to areas of study that include child development and learning, relationships, interactions and guidance, observation, assessment and meaningful content and curriculum. Based on the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Professional Preparation Standards for Initial Licensure and the California Early Childhood Educator Competencies, the program is designed to complement previous early childhood educational training and fieldwork typically received in community colleges. Lower division coursework mirrors the Curriculum Alignment Project Eight (CAP 8) which provides a foundation for upper division content and experiences.
Unique Features: Fieldwork: Throughout the program students apply their learning through fieldwork experiences which must: - Include the following age groups: Birth to three, three to five, and five to eight. - Include one or more of the following settings: publicly funded early care and education setting (e.g., State Funded Preschool or Head Start), privately funded early care and education center (non-profit or for profit), family child care home or elementary school.
