Show More Nurse Executive. Health coordinator. Nurse Administrator—the Nursing Administration and Management specialization prepares registered nurses for these and other advanced leadership roles. Students in the Master of Nursing program specializing in Nursing Administration and Management will gain the diverse and necessary set of skills to excel in the healthcare industry, both as caregivers and administrators—from patient outreach to staff management, policymaking to finance. The program prepares nurses to work in administrative as well as clinical settings. A core curriculum focuses on nursing theory, practical knowledge of legal and ethical issues in healthcare, and specialized skills in areas such as healthcare informatics, strategic management, and planning. The MSN degree with a specialization in Nursing Administration and Management program is intended for registered nurses who have already completed their bachelor’s degree in nursing. Registered nurses who do not yet have a bachelor's degree in nursing but would like to pursue the Masters in Nursing may do so through our RN to MSN Bridge Program, which allows RNs to graduate directly with their MSN degree. Courses include Modern Organizations and Health Care, Health Care Informatics, Health Care Finance and Economics, Diverse Populations and Health Care. In addition to coursework, students will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in the field of Nursing Administration and Management during the two-part Nursing Administration Practicum course.
