Show More A growing number of practice settings, including Magnet hospitals and academic health centers, now prefer or require the baccalaureate degree for nurses. Aspen’s RN to BSN Program gives associate degree or diploma nurses the opportunity to advance their nursing careers by completing the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduates of the RN to BSN Program can open doors to expanded career opportunities and significantly enhance their professional satisfaction. The mission of the RN to BSN Program is to prepare nurses for a broader scope of practice, enhance their professional development, and provide a better understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social issues that affect patients and influence care delivery. Nurses will be prepared to assume roles that demand critical-thinking, decision-making, communication, and leadership skills. The Master in Nursing program at Aspen University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The RN-to-BSN program is a new degree program in the School of Nursing at Aspen University. The RN-to-BSN program is currently in “applicant status”, and will be reviewed by the CCNE for accreditation in Spring, 2014. New applicant status is neither a status of accreditation nor a guarantee that accreditation will be granted. Entry RequirementsResume A resume or curriculum vitae. Official Transcripts Official transcripts for all previous college credit earned. Registered Nurse Licensure Current licensure as a registered nurse in the United States or Canada Nursing Experience A minimum of one year of nursing experience completed within the past five years. (Students for whom an exception is made will be advised to take core courses the first year of study while working to meet the experience requirement). Military Documentation (Optional) A Military ID or DD214 for those who qualify for the military discount program. Conditional Acceptance Students will be Conditionally Accepted pending successful completion of HUM410 - Academic Success: Strengthening Scholarly Writing. Upon successful completion of HUM410 - Academic Success: Strengthening Scholarly Writing students will be fully Accepted. This requirement is waived for students awarded Transfer Credit for HUM410 - Academic Success: Strengthening Scholarly Writing.
