Show More The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership serves adults who wish to prepare for roles as school and district leaders. The program is offered completely online and aims to promote an understanding of educational leadership and administration through a process which is based upon the national ISLLC standards. These standards have been identified as critical to successful school leadership. The six standards are: vision, school culture, management, community collaboration, integrity-fairness and ethical action, and political, social, economic, legal and cultural influences. Enrollment in the MA in Educational Leadership program is limited to accepted and matriculated students. Student may select from three areas of study within the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership degree program: Building Leadership, a 36-credit program that prepares graduates to earn supervisor and principal endorsements. District Leadership, a 42-credit program that prepares graduates to earn supervisor, principal and school administrator endorsements. School Business Administration, a 36-credit program that prepares graduates to earn school business administrator endorsement. Entry Requirements- All applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university; official copies of all undergraduate transcripts (and graduate transcripts, if applicable) must be submitted - All applicants must have a minimum of three years teaching or educational services experience - All applicants must submit a current resume - All applicants must provide two letters of recommendation, one from the New Jersey standard (not provisional) certified current superintendent, principal or assistant principal who will serve as his/her school site leader; the school leader (site supervisor) must also sign the MAEdL Site Supervisor Responsibilities form and the applicant must include this signed form in the application packet - All applicants must complete a Statement of Objectives that includes the applicant's purpose for attaining this degree and the applicant's professional goals as an educational leader (all essays are evaluated critically and used to assess a student's ability to succeed in and benefit from a graduate program) - All applicants must submit a copy of their current teaching, educational services or administrative certificate - All applicants must currently be working in a K-12 setting - All applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. - Applicants to degree programs must provide a current resume with their completed application. - Applicants to degree programs must provide two letters of recommendation with their completed application. - All statements of background and goals must be completed and submitted with a completed application and will be evaluated critically and used to assess an applicant's ability to succeed in and benefit from the graduate program. - All appropriate essay questions must be completed and submitted with a completed application; all essays are evaluated critically and used to assess a student's ability to succeed in and benefit from the graduate program. - The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose primary language is not English. All courses are offered entirely online in eight-week formats. Some courses include periodic live online participation at specific set times. All courses are offered in eight (8) week sessions, six terms per year which include January, March, May, July, September and November (See the MBA Calendar). The MBA start/entry periods are January, May and September. Students will learn advanced communication, analytical and leadership skills. Entry RequirementsAll Master of Business Administration candidates are required to have completed undergraduate courses in the following topics: Financial Accounting, Statistics and Microeconomics. Candidates may apply to the MBA program prior to completing these courses and receive conditional acceptance to the program but will not be able to enroll in MBA courses until the prerequisite requirements are satisfied.
