ODU's Electrical Engineering Technology program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ETAC of ABET). Our coursework stresses both theoretical and practical aspects of Electrical and Computer Engineering by combining the teaching and research expertise of the ECE faculty with additional research resources. Old Dominion's ECE department has research labs focusing on Advanced Signal Processing in Engineering and Neuroscience, Applied Plasma Technology, Computer Vision, Cybersecurity, Communications and Networking, Medical Imaging, Diagnosis, and Analysis, and Systems research. In addition, our ECE faculty work with various research centers of the University, which include the Applied Research Center, the Frank Reidy Center of Bioelectrics, the Laser and Plasma Engineering Institute, the Virginia Institute for Photovoltaics, and the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center. We also have close ties to other research facilities such as NASA Langley Research Center and Jefferson Lab. Entry RequirementsApplicants to the ECE program are expected to have: - a B.S. degree in electrical engineering (EE) or computer engineering (CpE) from an accredited institution; and
- a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in both the baccalaureate major area (EE or CpE) and overall. Applicants with academic degrees in areas other than electrical and computer engineering will be considered.
