The M.A. in Program Evaluation is a 37-credit program that can be completed in 16 months. All courses are delivered entirely online by accomplished and respected evaluation professionals. As a student in this program, you’ll consult with faculty, exchange ideas with classmates, and complete knowledge and skill-building activities—all at locations and hours that are most convenient for you. Also as part of your coursework, you will complete a two-semester supervised practical application course; you’ll work alongside evaluation practitioners in a professional evaluation setting to gain first-hand experience applying your learning from prior classes. Show More Learning Disabilities Endorsement The Master’s Degree with an endorsement in learning disabilities (LD) or Master’s degree only programs will prepare educators to teach individuals with LD in K-12 grade settings. Students will learn research-validated methods and evidence-based practices that they will apply in authentic contexts to foster deeper understanding and critical reflection. Collaboration and consultation skills are the cornerstone of the LD program. Through a combination of completing the program requirements and successfully passing the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC), students will meet the requirements for a Master’s Degree in Special Education with an endorsement in LD.
Autism Spectrum Disorders The Master’s Degree with an endorsement in autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or ASD endorsement only programs will prepare educators to teach individuals with ASDs in pre-K through 12th grade settings. Students will be trained to implement educational programming that relies on evidence-based practice for students with ASD. Evidence-based practices are educational practices that - Have empirical support - Are appropriate for a particular student in a particular situation given the professional judgment of the student support team - Practices or procedures that can be implemented within the educational setting the student resides. Through a combination of completing the program requirements and successfully passing the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification, students will meet the requirements for a Master’s Degree in Special Education with an endorsement in ASD. Entry RequirementsA grade-point average of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 credit hours attempted of undergraduate and all graduate courses. A valid teaching certificate in elementary or secondary education or eligibility for admission to the teacher certification program. Experience working with children and youth with disabilities (e.g., in a school or camp emphasis area) that is acceptable to the faculty.
