Show More The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is a practice-focused degree. The focus of the DNP is to prepare experts specialized in advanced nursing practice, as opposed to the PhD which has research as its core. The practice-focused DNP graduate will be prepared to develop evidenced-based practice solutions to complex problems in clinical practice and within the health care system. The Clarion and Edinboro Universities’ DNP Program is a 34-credit program that offers specialty electives in advanced clinical practice and clinical nursing education. Courses can be taken part-time over 6 semesters in an online format. Students will be admitted in cohorts of 27 and begin courses in the summer. The program is designed to be flexible, affordable, and professionally rewarding. The online, part-time structure accommodates employment as an advanced practice nurse while pursuing the DNP, thus easing the financial burden. Entry RequirementsMaster of Science in Nursing degree; National certification as an advanced practice nurse; Unencumbered, current license to practice as an advanced practice nurse in the state where internship hours will take place;

Benefits of the MSN Program at CCU Students have opportunities throughout the coursework to develop specialized nursing competency with a biblical worldview perspective. The MSN program utilizes national accreditation standards to help prepare graduates for national certification. The coursework integrates faith, learning, and living with emphasis on Christian nursing theory, moral leadership, and spiritual care. The online format enables nurses to earn their MSN right in their home community, and to collaborate with other nurses throughout the country. Entry RequirementsA completed graduate admission application. Resume, Curriculum Vitae, or portfolio with a resume submitted through the online application process. A legible copy of your state-issued driver’s license, passport, or a state-issued identification card. This ID must include your photo and be within the expiration date. A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale from a regionally accredited college or university. In addition, the college or university must have a programmatic accreditation from either CCNE or NLNAC. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. Documentation of a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing must be present on one of the transcripts. Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores. Candidates with an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher are exempt from the GRE requirement. Candidates with an undergraduate GPA less than 3.25 must take the GRE and submit the test scores to CCU. Scores submitted must be within the last five years. The CCU reporting code for the GRE is 4659. Admission interview(s), and responses to any additional requests by the designated program director.
