Massey's BAcc programme will give you a solid foundation in accounting and finance, rounded out with the all-important interpersonal, computer, and business communication skills critical for success in today’s business environment. The BAcc degree includes a solid foundation of compulsory papers, and it provides some flexibility to choose papers for yourself. It's a specialised degree that can lead to an accountancy career and membership in one or more of the professional accounting organisations. By the end of the programme, you'll be able to demonstrate self-directed and independent learning. You'll communicate effectively through speech, writing, and multiple forms of media, and you'll be able to measure, analyse and communicate information about economic transactions and events in the global economy. The BAcc degree will give you an understanding of the legal and regulatory environment that commercial organisations and accounting professionals must work within. You'll be able to identify and evaluate ethical dilemmas and provide logical ways to resolve them. Finally, you'll learn the concepts and processes needed to protect, validate and attest to the integrity and reliability of accounting information. Show More A Bachelor of AgriScience (Agriculture) degree provides the knowledge base and the analytical and management skills to improve the productivity and sustainability of agricultural systems. The major welds an understanding of agribusiness to modern farming practices within the wider context of the economy and society. It provides a sound foundation in agriculture but is sufficiently flexible to allow students to specialise in subjects of particular interest to them. The agriculture industry is diverse. It includes farming enterprises such as dairy, meat, and wool production; forage production; farm tourism; genetic improvement of plants and animals; and seed production. It also includes biosecurity, as well as service, consultative, and food processing industries. The Agriculture major will introduce you to a wide range of agricultural enterprises and enable you to gain specialist skills and knowledge in areas of greatest interest to you. You are also able to enter Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, or Masters programmes to further your learning after completing the major. In addition having NCEA Agriculture and Horticulture at Level 3 is an option that will ensure a smooth transition to University study. However, if you do not have a background of Chemistry at the Year 13 level then you can take 123.103. Introductory Chemistry, extramurally through Massey University over the summer before your first year of full-time study. This paper will introduce you to basic chemical vocabulary and provide training in the important chemical principles. You do need to already have a university entrance qualification, or to expect to obtain one by sitting NCEA Level 3 at the end of this year.
