This inservice course offers continuing professional development to early childhood educators working in schools and who are seeking to upgrade to a specialist four-year early childhood teaching qualification that is eligible for teacher registration in the NT.

The program is designed to extend and develop professional knowledge and skills of early childhood professionals; prepare for new and changing educational roles as early childhood educators; develop reflective practitioner skills; explore in greater depth the theory to practice nexus of early childhood education; ensure continuing awareness of the environmental and cultural influences on teaching and learning in early childhood, and better understand the needs of learners and communities with diverse linguistic and cultural orientations, including Indigenous learners.

Criminal History Check: Students must have cleared a Police Check and/or Working with Children check before they can undertake practice teaching. Students whose Police Checks and/or Working with Children check are not cleared by the education sectors will not be able to undertake practice teaching and will not therefore be able to complete the requirements of the course.

This course has been designed to provide you with a broad education in Clinical Pharmacy in tandem with opportunities to focus your studies on hospital, community or primary care sector priorities. It will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance your career.

It provides the opportunity for pharmacists to develop professional practice as clinical practitioners involved in making decisions about patient care. Practitioners working in both primary and secondary care contexts will benefit from the development of a range of skills to enhance career prospects and benefit service delivery.

It has been developed to be compatible with competency clusters outlined in the General Level Competency Framework and is mapped to core dimensions within the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework.

In view of the unique nature of the multidisciplinary input to the course and the fact that it has been designed in collaboration with employers in both primary and secondary care, career prospects for holders of the postgraduate qualification in hospital or community practice are extremely good.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in pharmacy from a UK university or overseas equivalent, at a minimum of honours level and one years post-registration experience OR an integrated masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm) and professional registration OR in consultation with the course leader.

Accountants play a vital role in the world of business. They are responsible for keeping accurate public records and ensuring an organization’s taxes are paid correctly and on time. Due to recent corporation scandals, an increasing number of accountants are employed to watch for any mismanagement of funds or fraud and to ensure compliance to tightening federal regulations regarding accounting and financial reporting practices. Typical daily duties include analysis and verification of financial data and reports, and communicating their findings to management/clients.

Accountants who render services to individuals are highly trusted by clients and often asked to not only prepare taxes, but also act as a financial advisor. Clients ask for help in creating a personal budget, managing investments and saving for retirement.

There are several specialties within the accounting field that a professional can choose, however they all stem from four main types of accountants:

Public accountants – The largest group of accountants, public accountants may perform duties related to taxes, audits, financial reporting, fraud investigation, and advising on employee benefits and asset security. Most public accountants hold the Certified Public Accountant credential and a large percentage run their own accounting firm or work for a public accounting firm that consults for businesses.

Management accountants – This type of accountant records and analyzes financial data for their employer. They are often part of a strategic planning or new product development team to report on financial information that executives will then use to make important business decisions. Other responsibilities typically include cost and asset management, budgeting and financial analysis/reporting.

Government accountants and auditors – These professionals work in the public sector and are employed by the government at the state, federal or local level. Accountants maintain and examine financial records for government agencies, and auditors conduct audits on businesses or individuals to make sure they are following regulations and paying taxes properly.

Internal auditors – Internal auditors examine an organization’s financial records to check for accuracy, fraud, waste, and proper security/management of assets. Additionally, internal auditors play a large role in evaluating the organization’s compliance with policies (both internal and external) and efficiency in their operations. They may also work closely with technology managers to review and evaluate the information systems.

Entry Requirements

An applicant must have a high school diploma or the equivalent. The University recognizes the following
equivalents to a high school diploma:

 A GED

 A certificate demonstrating that the student has passed a state-authorized examination (for example, the California High School Proficiency Exam) that the state recognizes as the equivalent of a high school diploma. Note that certificates of attendance and/or completion are not included in this qualifying category.

 An academic transcript of a student who has successfully completed at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree (i.e., an associate’s degree).

International Admissions Requirements

An I-20 document is required, and will be issued once you meet the University’s general undergraduate admissions requirements and provide the following information:

A certified copy of your high school and college transcripts evaluated by a transcript evaluation service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). All documents, diplomas, and transcripts not written in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.

ACT/SAT scores or transcripts from post-secondary coursework applicable for placement into the intended program. This document will replace entrance exams, which Herzing University does not administer beyond the U.S. and Canada. You may also be required to pay for a professional evaluation of your transcripts.

A notarized statement of financial support or a certified government sponsor letter indicating that tuition will be paid in advance of each term (tuition for the first two semesters is due upon enrollment), and that all necessary living expenses will be provided. (Use form I-134 available online from the BCIS.)

Proof of English-language proficiency through one of the following:

A score of 500 or higher on the paper-based TOEFL.
A score of 173 or higher on the computer-based TOEFL.
A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL.
A score of 5.0 or higher on the IELTS.
Documentation that you successfully completed an intermediate English course from a designated ESL center.
Documentation that you successfully completed secondary studies in English (a minimum of four years) or post-secondary studies in English (a minimum of 12 semester hours).
