Show More The Master of Public Health will equip students with the tools to identify, understand, manage and respond to complex health and social issues in inter-cultural, local and global contexts. It offers advanced skills in interpreting health information, including epidemiology, statistical methods and qualitative research methods. Students will also develop competencies in designing and evaluating public health interventions, and applying their understanding of public health practice to health promotion, health systems, health policy and health care decision making. The course is delivered through the online management system. Four core units have a compulsory 1-2 day on-campus intensive in addition to the online learning components. Unique features of the course are the specialist electives in public health practice, Indigenous health and global health. Students also have the option of completing the program by undertaking a supervised research project. Career opportunities for graduates include the non-government and government sector in areas of health research; professional health practice, health planning and policy; epidemiology/biostatistics; communicable and non-communicable disease control, nationally and internationally.. This course requires a high level of academic reading and writing. Students who are not confident with their academic literacy skills are encouraged to develop them prior to enrolling. Entry RequirementsSuccessful completion of a recognised bachelors degree of four years duration or equivalent. Applicants with a completed Graduate Diploma of Public Health from CDU are also eligible.
