Show More This postgraduate qualification provides pharmacists with the knowledge and skills to direct and deliver efficient and effective community pharmacy public health services. It aims to instil professionals with the confidence to actively seek out opportunities to be the chosen first class provider of public health services in new world commissioning.
The programme consists of core and optional units. Students will be able to choose a number of optional units that meet their specific learning needs from a range of community pharmacy public health service areas. The programme is run on a modular part-time basis. Students are expected to commit to a minimum of 10 hours learning per week. Entry RequirementsAcademic entry qualification overview All applicants must be able to meet the following requirements: have an honours degree in pharmacy usually at a minimum level of 2:2 be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (UK) or equivalent regulatory authority in the students home country for overseas students be in employment in the community healthcare pharmacy sector or have access to an appropriate area of practice whilst enrolled on the programme submit a written document to support their application which gives a review of their pharmacy experience, their reason/s for undertaking the programme and their expectations of what they hope to gain from the programme. Applicants for CPD units will require a degree in a health related subject, be registered with their professional regulatory body and have access to patients in order to complete the programme assessments.
International Students: All International students must upload a scanned copy of their passport as part of the application process.
English language requirements Students whose first language is not English require either: IELTS level 7.0 overall with level 7.0 in reading and writing specifically TOEFL 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based) or minimum of 100 (Internet-based test) Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English Grade B All certification should have been achieved within the past two years. Some English language test results are only valid for two years. Your English language test report must be valid on the start date of the course.
Other entry requirements Applicants need to be working a minimum of one day per week in community or primary care pharmacy and have access to patients. As this is a completely online programme, students must have access to a computer with fast and reliable internet connection. There is a minimum level of computer skills required, these include the ability to:
navigate the Blackboard learner management system to work efficiently with Word (or similar) and Powerpoint programmes use the internet to search websites navigate e-learning programmes download PDF learning materials use video equipment to undertake assessments.

Master of Dental Public Health (MDPH)
Course units may also be taken singly. Entry RequirementsA degree in dentistry or a non-clinical subject and preferably two years of working experience. Normally the non-clinical degree will be in a science or social science subject (minimum 2:1 or equivalent GPA) and the individual will be working in some area with a link to oral health. The degree held must be from a recognised institution. Applicants with other qualifications, research or professional experience will be considered for admission on an individual basis, although they may be required to register for a diploma in the first instance.
English language requirements Where an applicant's certificate of education is from an approved English-speaking country, they are exempt from having to take the English test. Applicants whose degree certificate is not from an approved country, but are resident in an approved country for 36 months before the Programme, are also exempt. Approved countries:

Students should expect to spend, on average, approximately 10-15 hours a week for each course unit studied. Part-time students usually enrol on a minimum of one course unit per semester, so that the coursework is completed within four years. However, the course can be taken at the student's own pace, provided it is completed within five years. The MRes will develop skills for health services research and be especially suitable for those who wish to study for a PhD subsequently but have limited experience of research. The MRes comprises 6 course units and a dissertation [180 credits]:
Biostatistics [15 credits] Qualitative Research Methods [15 credits] is a prerequisite for any students planning a qualitative dissertation. Students are advised to take at least two core course units in the first year of the course for part-time students, or in the first semester for full-time students. Entry RequirementsAcademic entry qualification overview There are two routes of entry: A recognised primary degree in a dental subject and a preferred minimum of two years post qualification experience A degree (minimum 2:2) in a non-clinical subject and preferably two years of working experience. In all cases, the degree held must be from a recognised institution.
