The Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Leadership degree is geared toward those who wish to become health care managers. The online degree also allows graduates to assume roles in health services management, health care education and medical sales. The BS in Allied Health Leadership is a bachelor’s degree completion program for individuals who have earned an associate degree. The program is also appropriate for those who have completed accredited certificate or diploma programs in allied health fields. Entry Requirements

To be considered, graduates must be from an approved secondary school or have obtained a General Education Development high school equivalency diploma issued by the Pennsylvania (or associated state) Department of Education. Home-schooled applicants must be a graduate of a Department of Education-approved home-school association program.

The Allied Health Leadership (AHLD) concentration is designed to offer students with Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees in allied health fields the opportunity to obtain a baccalaureate degree by using more of their A.A.S. hours than normally transfer to a four-year institution.

Traditionally, A.A.S. graduates find that many of their allied health credit hours do not transfer to a four-year institution. This concentration allows A.A.S. graduates the opportunity to receive undergraduate credit for allied health professional courses completed at a community college.

The B.S. completion program is designed for health care providers in medical fields such as medical assisting, medical laboratory technology, cardiovascular technology, physical therapy assistant, and occupational therapy assistant. This concentration will build upon their existing professional knowledge to enhance their skills in communications, critical thinking, problem solving, research, and leadership theories.

In addition, the concentration will equip graduates with entry level management, group dynamics, and supervisory skills as they relate to the allied health disciplines. Successful completion of the concentration will increase the mobility of graduates into leadership positions in their respective professions.

The Allied Health Leadership concentration is online and has open enrollment throughout the academic year.

Keiser University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science is a completion program for graduates of associate of science programs in allied health fields. The curriculum supports an expanded professional role, enhances interdisciplinary understanding and provides a base for graduate education.

To be considered for admission to Keiser University all applicants must supply:

Verification of high school graduation ( transcript, diploma, etc. ) or

Verification of GED completion ( GED scores or GED diploma ) or

Proof of graduation from a foreign institution comparable to a United States secondary school.

If an applicant’s primary language is not English, the applicant must present a TOEFL® score of 500 or higher on a paper-based examination, a score of 173 on a computer-based examination, an internet-based score ( iBT ) of 61, or an IELTS™ score of 6.0 or higher.

The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) program is exclusively designed for learners with at least two years of transferable credit from institutions other than UNCP, who hold either Associate in Applied Arts or Associate in Applied Science degrees. The program serves adult students, in particular, who seek a broad, more flexible degree program to help them to advance or become more established in their careers or to improve their understanding of the world around them. The BIS is intended for a set of diverse students who bring to the university many academic, personal, and work-related experiences. They may choose the BIS program because (1) they are aware that they are more employable in many occupations with the degree, (2) that learning in the arts and sciences and in a field of specialization leads to understanding and empowerment, and (3) they review their personal plans and recognize that they can effectively meet their most important goals for a bachelor's degree through the BIS. The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Applied Professional Studies prepares graduates with core competencies necessary for successful careers in for-profit business. Combined with solid training in communication and writing skills, these competencies include basic understandings of economics, finance, statistics, decision sciences, management and marketing. Beyond these core competencies, students receive training in one of seven areas of specialization: Advertising, Allied Health Leadership, Economic Development, Financial Administration, Health Promotion, or Office Administration.
