The Bachelor of Computer Science provides a broad-based education in computer science fundamentals with an emphasis on software development, computer graphics and visualisation, artificial intelligence, high performance computing architecture and games programming.

As with all our courses, the Bachelor of Computer Science is designed and delivered with study flexibility in mind. You can choose between full-time and part-time study options to fit in with work and lifestyle commitments. You could choose to study one subject in an academic session or, with approval, fast-track degree completion by undertaking four subjects per session.

CSU's Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) offers students the opportunity to conduct research in an area of interest. Students can develop their knowledge in the fields of computer science, information technology, computer engineering or software engineering.

The Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) is the starting point for you to enter into the exciting world of research in computer science and data analysis. The course is designed for students who have completed their bachelor degree in IT or computing and wish to further develop their programming and problem solving skills through research training.

Honours students will conduct a research project closely supervised by one or two experienced academic staff. In many cases, Honours students work closely with their supervisors in research teams.

Students will have the opportunity to learn computational approaches used in modern science and engineering and data / information processing applications in industry and the public sector. The course equips graduates with practical research and analytical skills

Most Honours students in this course are sponsored by a scholarship from the Faculty or University.

CSU’s Bachelor of Creative Arts and Design (Graphic Design) is tailored in response to the demands of industry and the aspirations of highly motivated students. Diversity underpins the structure of the course with a cross-section of specific subjects covering all aspects of design, advertising and new media, including web and video applications. Students are encouraged to develop creative, theoretical and technical design skills with a focus on aesthetic and professional understanding. The teaching principle we adopt is simple: actively promote all our students to think first, and worry about the technology second.

Students complete a suite of core subjects which provide foundational and contextual knowledge and skills. One third of the degree is made up of specialist graphic design subjects. A minor or elective sequence adds breadth, enabling you to select subjects from another discipline area. Minor studies can be chosen from areas such as acting, advertising, art history, animation and visual effects, design for theatre and television, imagemaking and illustration, sound or television production. The program finishes with a professional capstone subject which prepares students to embark on a career in their chosen area.

CSU's Bachelor of Ecological Agricultural Systems places an emphasis on people and their perceptions and how these impact on the natural world. The course takes natural and social ecology as its foundation stone and develops applied scientific and management approaches to working with people and nature.
