You will also delve into the social, political, ethical, legal, and economic factors contributing to the complexity of the US health care system Entry RequirementsStudents seeking admission to an online undergraduate program must meet the following admission requirements prior to the start of the first course at Ashford University: Have a regular high-school diploma earned through college preparatory or regular high school courses or GED equivalency recognized by the Department of Education of the state in which it was earned, completed secondary school through home schooling as defined by state law, or earned an equivalent to a US high school diploma at an international high school according to approved Foreign Evaluation services. An earned IEP or Special Education Diploma or Certificate of Completion based upon IEP goals does not meet the regular high school diploma requirement for admission to Ashford University. If no high school degree was earned, applicants who have successfully completed at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited postsecondary institution, as defined by Ashford University transfer credit policies, may be admitted. Be 22 years of age or older, or be exempt from this requirement by meeting one of the following criteria: - Earned a minimum of 30 transferable credits* as defined by Ashford University transfer credit policies; - Earned an Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally or approved nationally accredited institution; or - Seeking readmission to Ashford University after withdrawal from a degree program; or - Current degree-seeking student at Ashford University requesting to change majors. Have the ability to study English indicated by one of the following: - Achieved a recognized high school diploma or equivalent in which the primary language of instruction was English - Received a GED that was taken in English - A minimum of 30 credits have been earned from regionally or approved nationally accredited colleges/universities in the United States or equivalent in which the primary language of instruction was English; or - Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination taken within the past two (2) years. A minimum score of 500 paper-based or 61 Internet-based is required. Copies of official scores must be submitted prior to provisional enrollment, and official scores must be submitted for full admission. Entry RequirementsIn order to apply to Brookline College, it is our policy that a student must be a citizen of the United States or an eligible non-citizen as classified by the Department of Homeland Security. In addition, applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of admission and posses a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent). If a prospective student is less than 18 years of age, they may be permitted to enroll if they obtain parent or legal gaurdian signature of approval or demonstrate that htey are otherwise covered under state emancipation statutes.
Non-immigrant Students * Proof of English Language Proficiency All non-immigrant student applicants must provide Brookline College with proof of English language skills to pursue enrollment with the College. Non-immigrant students can either: a) provide, in form of official transcripts successful completion of coursework from an accredited high school or English language school certified with SEVP, b) take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test to determine their language skills in English and meet the minimum score requirements. A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based and 84 on the internet-based TOEFL test is required as proof of proficiency in English. This test must be submitted directly from the testing organization to the campus, sent to the attention of the DSO, where the non-immigrant student is applying. Unless the primary language of the non-immigrant student is English, and the College can confirm, then the student is not required to take the TOEFL test. There is no limited amount of times a student can take a test. TOEFL test scores are valid for two (2) years after the test date. The official scores become part of the permanent student record once the student has enrolled with the College. * Financial Affidavit or Proof of Financial Support
Bank statements of letters from sponsors showing said evidence that tuition can be covered including living expenses for a minimum of one (1) year. * Proof of High School or Secondary School Graduation * Transfer of Credits from Postsecondary School

By successfully completing this program, students will be able to demonstrate competency in the following five domains: - Communication and Relationship Management: The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external customers, to establish and maintain relationships, and to facilitate constructive interactions with individuals and groups - Leadership: The ability to inspire individual and organizational excellence, to create and attain a shared vision, and to successfully manage change to attain the organization's strategic ends and successful performance - Professionalism: The ability to align personal and organizational conduct with ethical and professional standards that include a responsibility to the patient and community, a service orientation, and a commitment to lifelong learning and improvement - Knowledge of the Health Care Environment: The demonstrated understanding of the health care system and the environment in which health care managers and providers function - Business Skills and Knowledge: The ability to apply business principles to the health care environment; basic business principles include financial management, human resource management, organizational dynamics and governance, strategic planning and marketing, information management, risk management, and quality improvement Entry RequirementsThe MS-HCA degree program is open to applicants planning a career or advancing a career in the health care field who have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. Admission will be granted based upon the Admission Committee's overall assessment of the student's qualifications and academic/career potential, using the following criteria: Cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5; Statement of Purpose in pursuing the HCA degree (a 1-2 page essay double-spaced, explaining who you are, your career goals and how the MS HCA degree will help you achieve those goals, and why you believe you will be successful in the program); Two letters of academic and/or professional recommendation (on letterhead). The letter writers should include how they know you, if they think you would be successful in the program and why they think that; Professional resume/vita; All undergraduate/graduate transcripts. (These must be sent directly to University Admissions NOT the Department.) All applicants must submit an online Graduate Admission application declaring Health Care Administration as a degree objective, and transcripts, at http://www.csumentor.edu along with a non-refundable fee.
