The Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics is an inter-disciplinary program, with courses from Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, and Health Informatics.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for entry into King University bachelor’s programs must meet the following requirements:
• A minimum of a 2.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale and the equivalent of 60 semester hours or an associate degree.
• Students with less than a 2.2 GPA may be considered and accepted on a conditional basis provided they are able to demonstrate a significant rationale as to why they feel they will succeed in the program.
• A completed “Plan of Study” to document how those students who need extra courses to meet the required 124 credits for graduation will earn additional credits. Students with 45 to 60 hours may apply for admission; however, they must meet with a King University Student Support Specialist to develop a specific written plan that outlines how they will complete the program. This plan must be in place prior to registration of classes.

This online degree completion program provides students who have earned an associate’s degree in health information technology the option to complete their Bachelor’s degree and advance their competence in the field of health information administration. This is a degree completion program. Students coming into the program must have already completed an associate degree in Health Information Technology. In addition to the major courses and required general education courses, students must complete 23 credits of general education electives. The major consists of a total of 128 semester-hour credits.

Students must be a graduate of an accredited public or private high school with an average grade of "C" or better. GED students must have a standard 2.0 or better or show college credit with a cumulative grade point of 2.0 or better for admission to an undergraduate degree program. Students who do not meet the cumulative grade point standard may be conditionally accepted and required to take specific introductory course work and complete it with a grade of 2.0 or better, prior to consideration of formal acceptance.
