If you work within the National Health Service in Wales the course fees for the award are funded by the Welsh Assembly Government via the National Leadership and Innovations Agency for Health (NLIAH).

Undertaking the award gives you an understanding of the contemporary primary and community health care agenda. The award also meets the specific requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) regarding Specialist Practice.

The NMC states that to achieve specialist practitioner status, graduates must have achieved prescribed standards, both core and community-specific. When you successfully complete this award, you will receive a specialist practitioner qualification in Community Children’s Nursing.

Applicants must have a first level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

You must have acquired a credit rating of 120 credits at Level Five (diploma).

If you have not achieved 120 Level Five credits there is a process of APEL (Accreditation of Prior and Experiential Learning) you can undertake.

This major explores a range of contemporary issues affecting Australian Indigenous peoples' life experiences and aspirations. It provides students with opportunities to engage with both the resilient nature of Australian Indigenous cultures as well as contemporary forms of Indigenous cultural expression, including song, dance, story, art, film and theatre. A range of interdisciplinary conceptual tools is utilised, including critical race theory and emerging Indigenous critical theory, to further the project of decolonising knowledges on and about Indigenous peoples. In so doing, the major also encourages students to examine the issues of personal and national identity, and the relationship between these, themselves and Aboriginality.

The Bachelor of Environmental Health at CQUniversity is designed to produce graduates who are competent environmental health professionals, ready to be employed as workplace leaders. Environmental health professionals will be involved in decision-making and management, and responsible for putting in place strategies to recognise, evaluate and control environmental factors affecting public health. When studying this program, you will learn the knowledge and skill to be able to facilitate, educate, problem-solve, and promote environmental health in relation to individuals, families, the community and environment. A comprehensive portfolio of environmental health studies are offered in this program in areas such as food safety, potable and recreational water quality, communicable disease management, disaster management, indoor air quality, vector-borne disease control and waste management.

The Professional Doctorate in Health is designed for a range of health and social care professionals who are interested in furthering their development as expert practitioners and researchers in practice.

By utilising web-based delivery blended with Summer Schools (typically five days in length), the programme aims to meet the learning needs of busy health and social care practitioners.

During the first two years of study you will complete a series of units covering research methods, evidence based practice, comparative health policy and other topics relevant to research in practice. Throughout the first two years you will also be developing a protocol for your doctoral research project. Unlike the PhD programme, we do not expect you to have a well-developed research protocol before commencing your studies. Your Personal Development Adviser (PDA) will work with you to develop your research plans, before handing over to an academic and practice-based supervisor during the second year.
