Show More If you work within the National Health Service in Wales the course fees for the award are funded by the Welsh Assembly Government via the National Leadership and Innovations Agency for Health (NLIAH). Undertaking the award gives you an understanding of the contemporary primary and community health care agenda. The award also meets the specific requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) regarding Specialist Practice. The NMC states that to achieve specialist practitioner status, graduates must have achieved prescribed standards, both core and community-specific. When you successfully complete this award, you will receive a specialist practitioner qualification in Community Children’s Nursing. Entry RequirementsApplicants must have a first level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You must have acquired a credit rating of 120 credits at Level Five (diploma). If you have not achieved 120 Level Five credits there is a process of APEL (Accreditation of Prior and Experiential Learning) you can undertake.

A range of interdisciplinary conceptual tools is utilised, including critical race theory and emerging Indigenous critical theory, to further the project of decolonising knowledges on and about Indigenous peoples. By utilising web-based delivery blended with Summer Schools (typically five days in length), the programme aims to meet the learning needs of busy health and social care practitioners. During the first two years of study you will complete a series of units covering research methods, evidence based practice, comparative health policy and other topics relevant to research in practice. Throughout the first two years you will also be developing a protocol for your doctoral research project.
