Entry Requirements

CCU sets test scores and grade point averages as our minimum level of acceptance for traditional undergraduate students. Normally, the minimum requirements for admission are:

2.8 High School GPA;
21 ACT composite scoreor1500 SAT score;
A strong spiritual recommendation; and
Application essay responses

Students who do not meet these minimum requirements are encouraged to apply and the University will consider their application under a committee review process which may include a personal interview. Factors such as essay content, recommendation content, and extracurricular activity all contribute to an individual admission decision.

International Student Requirements

As an international student, you must meet regular entrance requirements and follow standard application procedures. In addition, you will need to demonstrate the ability to understand college-level English. All non-native English speaking undergraduate students must achieve a minimum score of 550 or better on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

If you are admitted on a student visa you must be enrolled for at least twelve semester hours of credit. In order to work off campus, international students must meet with the International Student Coordinator at CCU to obtain permission from the United States Immigration authorities. International students may be eligible for institutional financial aid and awards, but are not eligible for federal financial aid.

The 44-credit hour program is centered on rigorous and applicable curriculum that addresses interpersonal, public, group, family, organizational, intercultural and mass communication theory and applications. This programme places the academic study of advertising in a broad media context. The programme is designed for graduates with experience in advertising, marketing or related sectors who seek to enhance their qualifications and for those with an academic background in the social sciences or humanities who aspire to careers, or to teach, in these sectors. The specialist modules explore the advertising industry in a global context, examining advertising as a form of communication shaped by economic, cultural and social factors, and as an occupational practice. These modules will examine how advertising works in different media; advertising history and development; ethical, regulatory and social issues; the nature and impact of advertising; and consumer behaviour and marketing research.

Entry Requirements

At least a good second-class honours degree in any discipline, though a Social Science degree would be particularly relevant, from an institution recognised by the University. Applicants who do not have a first degree, but who can demonstrate other relevant qualifications and/or experience may also be considered. You may be invited to submit an entry assignment in support of your application.
