UNIGIS is a Distance Learning Postgraduate Network in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) run jointly by Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Salford. The UNIGIS network has 20 years experience of success in delivering GIS postgraduate courses. Our highly regarded programme is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in the GI industry - or those wishing to enter the sector. UNIGIS aims to provide a deeper and balanced education in GIS. Three separate pathways are offered up to MSc level.

Entry Requirements

Normal entry requisites are: a relevant UK Honours degree (or international equivalent) or an HND/Foundation degree and relevant experience; or relevant professional qualifications, and experience. Each application is considered individually, based on qualification and experience. Enthusiasm and commitment are also important.

This course gives you the opportunity to top-up your existing CIMA qualification to a degree level. The programme has been specifically designed to allow students to explore an area of their own interest and develop their commercial insight to become successful finance and business professionals.

The one-year, online course is designed to enable professionals to continue with their busy lifestyle while gaining a further academic qualification.

Students are given access to a comprehensive online system in which they have access to taught learning material, interactive features and access to further reading through MMU’s online library system. Alongside this, students are given continual one-to-one online support through email communication and Skype video calling from expert academic tutors to ensure they achieve their full potential.
