Show More All countries are subject to continual social and economic change, and the rural sectors of developing countries are often pivotal to this process. In a context of increasing globalisation, an understanding of the underlying driving forces of this process and its consequences are critical. This programme provides graduates with an interdisciplinary base from which to approach the diverse issues involved in rural change.
Programme aims The programme gives students the opportunity to develop:
a critical awareness of the social, economic and management issues underlying socioeconomic change a set of operational skills pertinent to working in the public, private or NGO domains
the ability to engage with, and influence, rational debates concerning the optimal direction of rural sector change the ability to access the rural development literature and to pursue effective research. Entry RequirementsAcademic Requirements
MSc degree A good degree in an appropriate discipline acceptable to the University.
English language Requirements For all applicants a high level of English language ability in reading, writing and study skills is required, equivalent to a score of 7.0 in the IELTS test, or 7 in both reading and writing; or a score of 600+ in the TOEFL paper-based test of English, with at least 5.0 in the test of written English; and in the TOEFL internet-based test, you will need a score of 100+, with 25+ in the written English test.
