Entry RequirementsRegistered nurses who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply to Gonzaga’s post-master’s online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program: A master’s degree in nursing with a concentration as a Nurse Practitioner, Health Systems Leadership/Nursing Administration, Nurse Anesthetist, or Clinical Nurse Specialist. Programs must be accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or similar national accreditation. Current MSN students who will complete master’s level coursework prior to the start of DNP classes can still apply. *Final official transcript, APN License (if applicable), and verification of practicum hours must be submitted at completion of MSN program. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) from master’s-level nursing courses of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. If GPA falls below a 3.3 please include an explanation of GPA statement. Documentation of an Evidence Based Practice (EBP) course on an official transcript. If the student has not had an EBP course, he or she can still be fully admitted, but will be required to complete an EBP course prior to starting DNP course work. Gonzaga offers this course and it is available online to DNP students. Must have taken a 3-semester credit graduate-level inferential statistics or biostatistics course within the last 5 years with an earned grade of B or better. If the student has not had a statistics course, or it does not fall within the time constraints, he or she can still be fully admitted, but will be required to complete a statistics course prior to starting DNP course work. Gonzaga offers this course online to DNP students.
MAT Test Score Provide a verification form documenting supervised practicum hours earned in a master’s program. Must possess an unencumbered RN license from the state where practicum/capstone courses will be completed and provide documentation.

Family Nurse Practitioner Entry RequirementsA bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university A minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) from bachelor’s level courses of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale An official transcript from every college and university and/or nursing program attended (only courses from accredited institutions will be accepted) Curriculum vitae (CV). Three letters of recommendation. (sent from within the online application) - Two must be from a colleague/supervisor who is able to evaluate current competency in nursing and the candidate’s potential for advanced practice (clinical or leadership depending on area of practice) at the most advanced level. - Applicants are strongly encouraged to have one letter from a former college/university nursing professor who can attest to the candidate’s potential for academic success in a doctoral program. - Letters must be signed and on letterhead. Recommendation letters will be uploaded through the online application portal by the recommender. A 500-word personal statement that addresses: - Reasons for pursuing a DNP degree and how Gonzaga University’s DNP program will prepare the candidate to meet his or her professional goals - Personal and professional strengths - Professional experiences - Interest in specific track within DNP program (FNP, PMHNP, or A/GNP) Current Registered Nurse license GRE exam scores (completed within the last five years). Gonzaga would prefer a bachelor of science in nursing, but that is not required. Students who are admitted without a bachelor’s degree in nursing may need to take some foundational nursing courses before completing master’s-level courses, e.g., statistics, research, and community health nursing. You must take the MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and provide a copy of test scores to be admitted into this program. If you have taken the MAT within the last five years, you do not need to retake it, only provide a copy of your test scores. Gonzaga will also accept GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) scores.
