The program comprises four core public health subjects**, four subjects from one of the following streams:
Health Promotion** plus an additional research project (24 credit points). **Available by distance delivery. Entry RequirementsApplicants normally apply to transfer into the Master of Public Health (MPH) Advanced in the final session of their MPH program. A minimum of 24 completed credit points with a credit grade average in MPH subjects is required, together with the availability of an appropriate academic supervisor for the Major Project. Applications for transfer are considered on a case-by-case basis and academic attainment in subjects not yet completed may also be taken into consideration. Course objectives The Advanced Practice courses are specifically designed for practitioners in health and social care and allied health professions who engage with a broad range of individuals with differing health and social care needs. The course is designed to both develop and embed knowledge, skill and confidence in practitioners who may already be working in a senior position as well as providing a base for those who are aspiring to advance their career. Each of the themed courses equips you with the ability to challenge theory, practice and effectiveness within the core elements of the course as well as in your chosen specialist fields. We develop your ability to critically examine theoretical frameworks which can be integrated within your advanced practice. Autonomous and multi-professional working allows students from differing professions to work innovatively and learn collaboratively, in keeping with the ethos of cross-sector partnerships in health and social service provision. Entry RequirementsA minimum of a second class Honours degree (2.1 preferred) or equivalent in a relevant subject. Applicants without these formal qualifications but with significant appropriate/relevant work/life experience are encouraged to apply.
