Show More Anderson University offers, in partnership with the Department of Adult Studies, an accelerated Bachelor of Science: Nursing (BSN) for registered nurses who have a diploma or associate degree in nursing. The RN-BSN Completion Program emphasizes analytic skills, a liberal arts perspective, and expertise for nursing practice. The BSN focuses on developing students for practice in the professional roles of practitioner, educator, scholar, member of the profession, and leader/manager. Students are prepared to design innovative nursing systems for individuals, families, and communities with complex health states in varied settings.
The RN-BSN Completion Program is designed as a hybrid program, providing both courses in a classroom setting as well as online. The nursing courses may be completed in 16 months. Supporting and liberal arts courses are taken following completion of the nursing curriculum and provide the base for effective nursing practice. Transfer credit is evaluated by the Department of Adult Studies and the dean of the School of Nursing or his/her designate. Entry RequirementsAssociate degree or diploma in nursing (from a nationally accredited nursing school). Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana or eligibility for licensure. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.0 (if below 2.0, student may be admitted probationally). Three letters of recommendation. Admission essay. Current CPR certification. Negative Mantoux, current immunizations. Criminal background report.

Our nursing program online is designed for the busy, practicing RN who embraces an online learning environment that allows for networking opportunities with a diverse group of peers in many geographical locations, as well as within many nursing specialties. Because we understand that your schedule as a working professional in nursing is demanding, and that your personal time is just as important, we have designed the Bachelor of Science in Nursing major required courses to be delivered in a 100% online format. Courses are 8 weeks in length and the student will participate in some experiential learning activities (application-based projects) within the coursework that may be enhanced in the workplace setting and/or in selected reflective observational experience(s). There will also be opportunities for the RN to collaborate online with other students in order to present case studies on relevant topics in nursing and problem-solve together to improve students’ critical-thinking skills, polish students’ communication techniques, and increase students’ overall confidence in team-building relationships. Students in our online RN-to-BSN program will also acquire a deeper understanding of the value of incorporating evidence-based research into “real world” practice and gain a greater appreciation for the commitment to lifelong learning in this dynamic profession.
