Show More The Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Online Completion Program is designed to meet the needs of a variety of medical imaging professionals seeking a balanced curriculum approach toward the completion of a bachelor degree. The program builds upon prior credits earned from regionally accredited institutions and professional certifications allowing students to progress towards the completion of a bachelor degree in as few as five semesters. The program is delivered in a dynamic online environment to meet the needs of working healthcare professionals. NOTE: Students preparing for the ARRT post-primary certification exams must meet clinical experience requirements not required with this program. A supporting objective of this program is to provide students with the theoretical knowledge to successfully pass select ARRT post-primary certification exams. Contact the ARRT for complete exam requirements. Mercy College of Ohio is authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents and by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to offer the Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging. Students in this program are eligible for federal financial aid. Entry RequirementsAll applicants must either be a high school graduate or have earned a general equivalency diploma (GED). Applicants are required to possess an associate degree in Radiography, Radiologic Technology, Radiologic Sciences, Radiation Therapy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or Nuclear Medicine Technology from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70. Applicants can apply for admission if they are expected to complete an applicable associate degree before the start of the program. Applicants must be currently registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Applicants who are recent graduates from an applicable program of study and not currently registered with the ARRT or the NMTCB can be considered for admission. Students must be ARRT or NMTCB registered before the end of the first semester in the program.
International applicants Applicants for whom English is a second language must complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum combined score (internet-based) of 80. Entry RequirementsTo be considered, graduates must be from an approved secondary school or have obtained a General Education Development high school equivalency diploma issued by the Pennsylvania (or associated state) Department of Education. Home-schooled applicants must be a graduate of a Department of Education-approved home-school association program. Medical imaging science students are required to maintain a minimum 2.0 QPA and earn grades of "C" or higher in all required science and clinical courses. Admission to a clinical program in radiologic technology or sonography is at the discretion of the clinical sites' admissions committees and is competitive.
