Show More Serving as the backdrop to so many novels, movies, documentaries, and TV shows, war may be as fascinating as it is feared. War is a cultural common denominator and serves as a catalyst for most societal evolutions and political revolutions. Our MA in Military History will explore the historiography of these civilization-changing events. With the Bureau of Labor and Statistics citing an expected 11% increase of historians in the job market from 2008 to 2018, you’re not alone in your desire to turn a passion into professional advancement. What You Will Learn You will assess major themes in global military history, including military theory and the effects of warfare on the political, cultural and economic aspects of the societies involved, and the relevance of these themes to people around the world. You will emerge an expert on the relationship between warfare and society. You will master strategy, command, leadership, tactics and technological advances in weaponry. You will identify what “won” wars, and where missteps would have altered our history books forever. In the process, you will hone your research, writing and communication skills, making yourself that much more marketable to employers. Where You Can Go Museum, historical society, college/university
