This course provides you with an in-depth understanding of health determinants and outcomes that transcend national boundaries, and the policy responses required to protect and promote population health in a globalising world. It is the world’s first Masters level course on global health policy by distance learning.

The course is aimed at students and professionals from both health and non-health backgrounds who seek to understand more about the policy environment associated with issues of global health. Academic Requirements

An undergraduate degree (e.g. bachelor) which is considered at least comparable to a UK second class honours degree, from an institution acceptable to the University, in one of the following subjects (and a minimum of one year’s relevant work experience): Water and Sanitation, Development Studies, Human Rights, Environmental Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Demography, Politics, Political Science, International Relations, International Politics or Policy Studies.

An undergraduate degree not listed above may still be considered provided this has been awarded in a subject deemed appropriate to the course and is at least comparable to a UK second class honours degree, from an institution acceptable to the University (and a minimum of one year’s relevant work experience).

Applicants who do not satisfy the above requirements may still be admitted at the discretion of the University on the basis of their academic qualifications, work experience and references.

English Language Requirements

- Complete an online application for admissions. Whether you want to apply through Quick Apply, as a full-time student or as a transient student, Florida Tech’s online application is quick and easy, and there is no fee. - Provide official documentation of high school graduation or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) if applying with less than 24 semester credit hours completed at an accredited institution.

- Provide official transcripts of all colleges and universities previously attended or presently attending.
- Schools must be listed in chronological order, including dual enrollment.
- All schools must be included, even if a term was not completed.

- Credit hours earned from regionally accredited schools will automatically be evaluated for transfer hours as part of the formal application process. In order for a class to be eligible for transfer, a grade of C or better must have been achieved. (A grade of C- will not be considered for transfer credit.)

- Official records must also be requested for any of the following that have been completed:

- CLEP/Advanced Placement exams
- GED College level examinations
- DANTES, USAFI examinations, Regent Standardized

- Diagnostic assessments in both math and English are required to determine the appropriate academic requirements and classes.

- Florida Tech does not give credit for work/life experience.

- A minimum of your last 25% of earned credit hours must be completed with Florida Tech in order to graduate.

International Applicants

International candidates must prove English language proficiency by at least one of the following:

- A minimum score 550 (paper based) or 213 (computer based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a score of at least a 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) or a score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS, earned no more than two years before attendance at Florida Tech

- Attended for three consecutive years and graduation from an accredited or state-approved mainland U.S. high school where English is the language of instruction

- Successful completion of a total of 20 semester hours at a regionally accredited, mainland U.S. university or college where English is the language of instruction, including three semester hours of English that qualify as transfer credit for Florida Tech’s Composition and Rhetoric (COM 1101) course

- Successful completion of a NASFA-recognized ESL program

Entry Requirements

We welcome applications from students holding, or expecting to hold, an upper second-class honours degree or higher, or equivalent.

Students without the usual entry qualifications may be admitted, with the requisite approval, on the basis of relevant work experience or professional qualifications. Mature applicants without formal qualifications but with relevant experience are also welcomed and will be considered.

For all applications, two academic references are required. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications until we have received both references.

If your first language or language of education is not English, we will ask you to show evidence of fluency in the use of English. For all of our postgraduate programmes we require a level of IELTS 6.5.

The term eHealth describes a diverse field concerned with the application of ICT to support the organisation and delivery of healthcare services and to enable citizens to manage their own health and wellness.

eHealth has become a priority area for the international healthcare sector and is attracting considerable global investment. This interdisciplinary programme introduces eHealth in the context of international health systems and global health challenges, supported by specialist courses covering areas such as public health informatics, telehealthcare and mHealth.

It is aimed at a wide audience, including health professionals, policymakers, NGOs, researchers, eHealth vendors and ICT practitioners. The programme is unique in addressing the topic from a truly international perspective, including a consideration of low and medium income economies.

Entry Requirements

A first or second class undergraduate degree or the equivalent, from a university or other institution acceptable to the University of West London. The degree does not need to be in psychology, but in a field appropriate to the course (e.g. nursing, law, economics, medicine, politics, IT, social work, occupational therapy, history or an appropriate professional or technical application, etc). All subjects/applications are considered on an individual basis, especially if accompanied by volunteer or field experience.

Applicant should demonstrate some experience and/or research in either a global setting or an organization with a global mission.

International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening), TOEFL ibt at score at 90 or above, Pearson PTE Academic at score 58 or above, or an equivalent secure English language test.
