Entry Requirements

Applicants for the Pg Cert/PgDip/MSc must hold an Honours or non-Honours degree with a pass mark of 50% or equivalent standard (e.g. Postgraduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate) in a relevant subject area from a university in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, from the Council for National Academic Awards, the National Council for Educational Awards, or from an institution of another country which has been recognized as being of an equivalent standard or demonstrate ability to undertake the course through accreditation of prior experiential learning (APEL). Relevant subject degree areas include biology,biochemistry, food and nutrition, food science, human nutrition, physiology or other relevant degree discipline.

Our program is an ACEND approved didactic program and upon completion you will be eligible to apply to dietetic internships. After completion of a dietetic internship, you will then be eligible to sit for the Registered Dietitian exam and become an RD upon passing the exam.

Throughout the course you will develop:
advanced knowledge of human nutrition and the complexity of current issues relating to food and human health;
an understanding of the biological, social and policy related aspects of human nutrition;

Applicants for the Master of Human Nutrition should have completed a three year bachelor degree in any discipline or equivalent qualifications or relevant professional experience. The Master of Science in HES with a specialization in Human Nutrition is a 30 semester-hour program designed to prepare registered dietitians to practice dietetics at an advanced level and/or to pursue doctoral study. The program develops research skills, stimulates independent thought, and provides up-to-date knowledge in food and nutrition. The master's degree is available through online courses. The degree requirements and course content are the same regardless if it is completed on-campus or online.
