The curriculum for King University’s online MBA degree guides students through methods of management, research, theoretical systems, skills development and ethical practices within their own contemporary professional environment.
King University’s online MBA program blends an intensive classroom case analysis with individual preparation and small group discussions. The MBA curriculum adopts and implements creative components such as a team-based learning model and provides a transformational learning experience for personal and professional skill development. The online MBA degree is a 36-hour program designed for students with limited work experience who seek to enhance their business administration knowledge and skills. Our online courses are the exact same courses as those delivered on campus.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for the MBA program must meet the following requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited college or university.
2. Undergraduate coursework completed in the following disciplines: statistics, marketing, finance, economics, financial accounting and computer applications (recommended).
• Students who do not meet the above course requirements will be enrolled in BUSA 4890 Statistics, BUSA 4891 Economics, BUSA 4892 Accounting, BUSA 4893 Finance and BUSA 4894 Marketing in the appropriate semester of the program. Students must complete seminars prior to the start of the corresponding MBA course.
3. A minimum of a 3.0 (or better) GPA on a 4.0 scale on all prior academic work.
4. Students with less than a 3.0 GPA may be considered and accepted on a conditional basis provided they are able to demonstrate a significant rationale as to why they feel they will succeed in the King University MBA program.
5. Obtain and submit two letters of recommendation (preferably one from an employer and one from a previous college professor). When applying online, students may submit the recommenders’ names and email addresses to automate the process.
6. Submit a two to three page personal statement.
7. Submit most recent resume.

The online Master of Education (M.Ed.) program focuses on curriculum and instruction, providing teacher candidates with the skill set and expertise to connect research and knowledge gained through coursework to actual classroom settings. Students in the program will be prepared to synthesize research and theory, as well as practice and apply those skills through observations and field work. The program prepares teacher candidates to become highly qualified educators who want to grow professionally and become excellent classroom teachers. Students will be challenged to use research tools that provoke investigative questions about teaching, learning, and school reform and to use that knowledge to improve instructional practices. These individuals will work closely with an advisor to create a customized curriculum, including the appropriate courses necessary to earn licensure.

King University offers nurses a direct track towards career advancement through continued education. Nurses can complete their RN to BSN with King University and go on to earn their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Our online master’s in nursing program is offered with three concentrations:
MSN nurse educator
MSN administrator
MSN/MBA
All concentrations can typically be completed within four consecutive 15-week semesters. Course requirements vary by concentration. The nurse education concentration is 39 credits while the nursing administration concentration is 35 credits.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for the MSN program must meet the following requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
2. Undergraduate course work completed with a “C” grade or better in the following disciplines:
• Statistics
• Nursing research
• Health assessment (not required for nursing administration)
• Pathophysiology (highly recommended but not required)
3. Current unrestricted licensure to practice as a registered nurse in Tennessee (compact/multi-state accepted).
4. Current CPR or BLS certification.
5. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale on all prior academic work. Students with less than a 3.0 GPA may be considered and accepted on a conditional basis.
6. Completion of application requirements and payment of application fee.
All prospective students meeting the criteria will be reviewed for admission into King University’s online MSN program. Admission will be granted on a competitive basis by the School of Nursing Admission Committee.

Notes

Nurses enrolled in the nurse administration concentration can also earn an MBA. The dual program is 63 credits and gives nurses an additional credential to increase their value in the increasingly business-driven health care industry.
