In this course, you will complete an individual design project and an industry-based research project. You will also choose from a variety subjects to develop specialised knowledge and skills in the chemical engineering field.

This course was initially designed in response to an industry need for a route towards a Chemical Engineering degree for technicians who already hold a 3rd level engineering qualification such as an HNC/HND. For successful applicants, 240 of the 480 credits required for an honours degree are waived in recognition of previous qualifications and/or industry experience. Its also common for graduates of related Engineering and Science subjects to use this course to transfer into a Chemical Engineering role.

Students completing the BEng with satisfactory results will have the opportunity to continue to the MEng (Master of Engineering), or alternatively the MSc Process Technology and Management.

The Master of Science in Chemical Engineering (MSCHE) is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline who wish to pursue a graduate degree in chemical engineering. Outstanding students with degrees in biochemistry, chemistry, physics, and other branches of science and engineering may also qualify for admissions with the completion of required prerequisite courses.

Admission to the Master of Science in Chemical Engineering program requires:

1. A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited engineering program

2. An overall GPA of 3.0

3. GRE scores. This requirement may be waived for students who have satisfactorily passed three chemical engineering distance education graduate courses (at least one of which is a core course) prior to applying

The TOEFL or IELTS scores (no more than two years old) are required for international applicants unless they have completed one year of study at a university in the United States, Canada or Great Britain.

This combined degree course consists of a three year Bachelor of Engineering Science qualification and two year Master of Engineering qualification. It includes specialisations in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and mechanical engineering. This combined course is an accredited two part pathway to register as a professional engineer with Engineers Australia.

This distance learning programme in Chemical Technology and Management is based on a partnership between the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).

This course meets the management and technical development needs of members of the RSC and those working in the chemical, pharmaceutical and process industries. The programme is directed at people working as chemists in R&D, manufacturing and business management roles.

An appropriate selection modules is available to allow participants from a wide range of backgrounds and industries to complete the course.

Honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering, technology or science discipline. Entry may be possible with other qualifications provided there is evidence of relevant experience and ability to study at an advanced level.
