Show More This degree advances the information that students have already learned in the associate degree. They apply the information they have already obtained in a more advanced study environment. For instance, they will be introduced to case studies and apply their knowledge to solve issues that are afflicting an organization and discus how they would overcome the problem. At this level, they will be involved in group structure commensurate to the real world of business. Developing a marketing plan as a group will introduce them to one of the many aspects of marketing.
The instructors bring real-world application to the classroom by meeting with professionals in the field and discussing what you really need to know in order to be successful in this field. While it is important to discuss marketing topics in the classroom, it’s even more important that you have the opportunity to actually apply what you have learned. Marketing isn’t for everyone. The field of marketing is a very exciting and rewarding career; however, students need to possess certain personality traits and characteristics to make it in the classroom as well as the world of marketing. Students need to be creative and self-motivated, they have to be able to work well in a team environment, they must learn to be detailed-oriented, and they must understand that they will be put into a leadership role at times. There really is no one trait or list of specific traits, but a combination of these and many more. Entry RequirementsStudents wishing to enter the baccalaureate division must have an associate degree from Sullivan or another accredited institution or have already earned approximately 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours.
