Show More Today’s civil engineers are actively creating the world of tomorrow with forward-thinking designs and innovative solutions. Projects leverage sophisticated technologies and new materials to construct the infrastructure of modern life. Builds are planned with cost-efficiency and sustainability in mind, and civil engineering opportunities continue to grow around the world. Established countries are updating their aging infrastructures; developing nations are beginning to build transit and water systems; and fast-emerging cities are constructing awe-inspiring edifices with extreme features. The future can lead just about anywhere … to a rooftop irrigation system in Dubai, a new highway in Africa, or your local public works office around the corner. our path to tomorrow begins here at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where we have provided excellence in engineering education for over 130 years. While our focus on math, science, and technology remains consistent and strong, our curriculum continually advances and evolves to meet the changing needs of our students. This includes the development of a transformative online program designed for civil engineers who want to gain the expertise to become leaders within this increasingly complex industry. Advantages of earning your Master of Science in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology include: Attending a respected, top-tier technology school. Studying online, on your schedule, from wherever you may be. - Participating in an innovative and engaging civil engineering program. - Gaining the confidence that comes from advanced education geared toward leadership careers. - Exploring how financial, environmental, and political considerations impact civil engineering projects. - Learning from experienced faculty with strong academic, business and technical credentials. This program has been created for civil engineers who want to reinforce and validate their expertise, while developing the leadership and project management skills necessary to advance their careers. Our students are able to apply what they learn to their current projects and position themselves for new opportunities managing large civil engineering projects. Many private, government, and military organizations are searching for civil engineers who have the right balance of hands-on technical knowledge and an understanding of what it takes to be a successful leader. The Online Master of Science in Civil Engineering can provide you with actionable skills if you are in a career (or interested in a career) with accountability for: - Leading road, railroad, airport, bridge, harbor, channel, dam, irrigation, pipeline, and water and/or sewage system projects. - Planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities. - Modeling and forecasting traffic volume and patterns. - Designing and operating intelligent traffic control systems. - Using quantitative methods to maximize project performance, efficiency and sustainability. - Making engineering decisions that balance financial, environmental, and political considerations.
