Show More Historians explore the past, examining the development of social, political, cultural and economic forces and how they have shaped societies and cultures over time. This major will help you to make an impact and help society overcome and adapt to the challenges of our changing environment. By examining the past, this major seeks to explain present day societies, events and everyday life. Its international scope includes specialised studies in Australian history, India and the subcontinent, the Middle East, Southern Africa, Japan, Indonesia and Europe. You can choose from topics including war and conflict, dictatorships, studies of marginalised groups, political economies, and place and belonging. Elective units throughout your course give you the freedom to study more units in your chosen field, or any other discipline (providing you meet any prerequisites). History is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. You can enhance your studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals.
