Show More The Arts are the study of humanity: our history, beliefs, society, language, and culture. They ask questions about how we think, how we communicate, and how we interact with our environment. They teach us to analyse the meaning behind what we are, what we do, and how we came to be that way. With a Bachelor of Arts you can study what you enjoy. The BA is extremely flexible, with only one compulsory paper. You can explore a wide range of subjects, and major in the subject where you have discovered a real passion. The option of a minor allows further flexibility for you to follow varied interests. There are a variety of ways you can structure your BA. While you'll need in-depth knowledge of at least one major subject, if you find you are equally passionate about two subjects you can complete a double major. You can also fulfil the requirements for a minor in one or two subjects. You are permitted to incorporate papers from many other disciplines, including some from outside the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The BA can be a stepping-off point for any number of disciplines and careers. Employers appreciate this flexibility. They also appreciate the ability of BA graduates to reason, research, analyse, criticise, communicate, and think laterally. Entry RequirementsTo enrol in the Bachelor of Arts programme you must qualify for undergraduate admission, either through Bursaries and Scholarship Examinations, NCEA Level 3, New Zealand University Entrance, Admission with Equivalent Status, Discretionary Entrance or Adult Admission.
