Offered by The William States Lee College of Engineering and the Department of Engineering Technology, this program consists of a sequence of upper-division (junior/senior-level) courses that lead, upon their successful completion, to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Degree. This program is accredited by ABET, Inc. (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and technology. ABET, a federation of 28 professional and technical societies representing these fields, ensures the quality of the postsecondary education students receive. Among the most respected accreditation organizations in the U.S., ABET has provided leadership and quality assurance in higher education for over 70 years. Program Delivery: All courses, except for the four labs, are delivered 100% online, through asynchronous instruction. Students typically complete labs during each of the four summers that they are enrolled in the program. Each lab is taught on campus with class typically held all day on five designated Saturdays.

The online BAS in health sciences degree at Arizona State University is ideal for people in health-related fields who have an associate of applied science (AAS) degree and want to earn their four-year degree.
The health sciences field is the single largest industry in the country, accounting for more than 14 million jobs. Many of the fastest growing occupations today are in health sciences. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, health sciences occupations are expected to generate as many as 3 million new jobs by 2016. In addition, the field of health education is expected to grow by 20 percent, or roughly 25,000 new jobs, in the next decade.

This is a cross-disciplinary program designed to equip students with knowledge and skills that will position them for a range of career opportunities in health-related fields.

Our graduates will be well prepared for success as managers in their original fields of expertise, such as Medical Radiology, Nuclear Medicine Technology and Histology Technology. Other career opportunities, depending upon the focus of original AAS study, include positions as health educators, elder services program coordinators, long-term care health and wellness coordinators, and community nutrition aides. Our students will also be uniquely qualified for graduate study in applied programs such as gerontology, family sciences and health education.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must successfully complete ASU competency requirements. Admission may be granted with one deficiency in no more than two competency areas. Deficiencies cannot be in both math and laboratory science. Students must earn a minimum 2.0 in any subject area. Most competencies may also be met by test scores or college courses.

English - 4 years (composition/literature based)
Math - 4 years - Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and one course requiring Algebra II as a prerequisite.
Laboratory Science - 3 years total (1 year each from any of the following areas are accepted: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Integrated Sciences, and Physics)
Social Science - 2 years (including one year American History)
Foreign Language - 2 years (same language)
Fine Arts - 1 year

Entry Requirements

For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must hold either (1) a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or (2) a tertiary (postsecondary) degree that is deemed comparable to a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution. This degree must be from an officially recognized degree-granting institution in the country in which it operates.

Successful applicants are expected to have an overall grade-point average of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher for their undergraduate study (and/or graduate-level studies).

Students are expected to have a basic competency in college algebra, computer programming, networks, and information technology (related work experience is also acceptable). A student may be accepted into the program with "provisional status" for no more than one year while work is completed to meet these expectations.

International applicants

All international applicants must take and submit scores for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), with the exceptions noted below. The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL is 550 for the paper-based test, or a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the internet-based test (iBT). Applicants with iBT speaking scores between 15 and 18 may be considered for provisional admission, which requires completion of specified remedial English courses ESL 114G (American Oral English for Academic Purposes) and/or ESL 116G (ESL/Composition for Academic Disciplines) and attainment of a grade of B or higher. The minimum acceptable composite score for the IELTS is 6.5. Graduate programs may have more stringent requirements.

You must be a high school graduate or have completed your GED to be eligible for admission into the degree program. You are also required to satisfy the entrance-to-college requirements to be admitted into the College of Information Sciences and Technology by any of the following methods:

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) degree program at Argosy University, is designed to prepare students for a career working with computers, networks, and emerging technologies.
