The program is designed for agriculture teachers in secondary and post-secondary settings, extension professionals, educators in public and private settings, and agricultural communicators. The flexibility of the program makes it possible for working professionals to obtain a master's while continuing to meet personal and professional responsibilities. The curriculum is 30 semester hours and is flexible allowing you to create a program best suited to your needs, interests, and aspirations. You may choose to earn a specialization in agricultural extension education. Entry RequirementsApplicants should have completed baccerealute degree in agricultural related field from a recognized institution.

The Master of Science in Agricultural Education at N.C. A&T offers two concentrations for you to choose from, depending on your career goals: Professional Licensure – Prepares individuals to teach agriscience education in middle and high schools. Graduates of this track are eligible to apply for advanced (graduate level) licensure in North Carolina. This track offers graduates versatility in career options, because it prepares them for the many other professions that rely on agricultural educators. Professional Service – Prepares individuals for careers in agribusiness, Cooperative Extension, government, or legal professions. This program also provides development of professional leadership skills for other careers in agribusiness, government service, extension, or adult education. The master's degree program in Agricultural Education, with its various options, provides a program that can be tailored to meet each student's career goals. In addition to the wide variety of professional courses in agricultural education, offerings are also available from all academic Departments in the College of Agriculture, including agricultural economics, animal and range sciences, land resources and environmental sciences, plant sciences and plant pathology, and veterinary molecular biology. Specialization areas such as adult education, educational administration, career education, and curriculum coordination are also available through cooperation with the College of Education, Health and Human Development. Plan A (thesis), Plan B (project or professional paper), and an online option are available. Entry RequirementsAny applicant who has received a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university may apply for admission to The Graduate School. An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants with post-baccalaureate coursework must have a graduate GPA of at least 3.0.

Program graduates can find employment in a variety of instructional, supervisory, and administrative positions across the education and training professions. The program will employ a variety of delivery methods with the primary tools being Blackboard (a virtual learning environment used to access course material) and Interactive Video Conferencing (ITV). During the first two years of the program, students will have at least one live course delivered via interactive video and one asynchronous course each semester.
