Show More CSU’s Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education is designed for people wishing to become trainers, learning facilitators or consultants in the adult and vocational education sectors. Students have the opportunity to study the generic stream or can choose from three specilisations. Students can choose to exit with the Associate Degree in Adult and Vocational Education. This course is offered by distance education, providing students with the flexibility to study at a time and place that suit their lifestyle, with access to a wide range of learning materials, support and communication tools online. This course allows students to enhance their skills in teaching and learning preparing them with skills in the assessment of student learning and the evaluation of training programs. Students will develop an understanding of the broad socio-economic and political context in which adult and vocational education and training is located. They will gain awareness of social justice and equity policies and their application in a range of teaching and learning environments including Indigenous, refugee and migrant education and training strategies. Students will develop knowledge about adolescents and adults, and learning and skills in and knowledge of training in workplace environments. Our graduates have expertise in communication in face-to-face and digital teaching and learning environments and the capacity to design and manage vocational education and training programs. They have an awareness of the value of open and lifelong learning and a predisposition to reflect upon and to accept professional responsibility for their own continuing education. Graduates have the ability to analyse and think critically and constructively about current developments in adult and vocational education and have strong training and research skills that enhance professional and workplace practice. The University of Birmingham is the leading provider of degree-level education in autistic spectrum disorders in the UK - offering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our courses develop real insight and encourage reflective practice. You will be tutored by recognized experts in the field who work in the Autism Centre for Education and Research (ACER) and will have access to an extensive library and research materials. Academic credits and qualifications can be used as a springboard to further study. Our courses contribute towards LDAF and NVQ. Entry RequirementsDomestic Students An early application is advised as places are allocated on a first come first served basis. All applications plus supplementary material (letters of recommendations/references, official transcripts etc) must be submitted no later than 4 weeks prior to the start date of your chosen programme in order for your application to be considered for the academic year.
