he RN to MSN Bridge program at Aspen allows registered nurses who have already earned an associate’s degree in nursing and are ready to expand their career opportunities and better serve their patients by obtaining a graduate-level degree. The program prepares graduates for leadership roles in management, education and clinical practice within across a diverse spectrum of healthcare settings.

Students of the RN to MSN Bridge Program who choose the Nursing Administration and Management specialization will study a core curriculum focused on nursing theory, a practical knowledge of legal and ethical issues in healthcare and specialized skills in areas such as finance; healthcare informatics; and strategic management, and planning.

Courses include Modern Organizations and Health Care, Health Care Informatics, Health Care Finance and Economics, Diverse Populations and Health Care. In addition to coursework, students will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in the field of Nursing Administration and Management during the two-part Nursing Administration Practicum course.

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Transcripts

Completion of 50 semester hours of required liberal arts education coursework.

The Nursing Education specialization is designed to provide courses that will equip students with a comprehensive education grounded in nursing theory and research, a practical knowledge of legal and ethical issues in healthcare, and specialized skills in areas such as teaching strategies and curriculum development.

The RN to MSN degree program is for registered nurses who have an associate degree in nursing and wish to pursue a graduate degree. The associate degree student does not receive a BSN degree, but instead progresses toward graduating with the MSN degree with a specialization in Nursing Education.

In addition to coursework, students will have the opportunity to attain classroom and clinical experience during the Nursing Education Practicum course.

The Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education program is intended for registered nurses who have already completed their bachelor’s degree in nursing. Registered nurses who do not yet have a bachelor's degree in nursing but would like to pursue a MSN degree may do so through our RN to MSN Bridge program. Open to registered nurses who already possess an associates degree in nursing, this program allows RNs to graduate directly with their MSN degree without being required to complete a separate bachelor's degree program.

MSN students specializing in Nursing Education will gain the skills necessary to transform their nursing experience into teaching expertise. Students acquire the tools to develop and manage classes through courses including Issues in Nursing Education; Teaching Strategies in Nursing Education; and Curriculum Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.

The MSN Nurse Educator program is designed to prepare well-qualified nurses to become well-prepared nursing educators in order to pursue careers in patient education, staff development, and pre-licensure nursing education programs in community colleges, and other educational settings. Like nursing, nursing education is also an art and a science. The course sequence is designed to transform well-qualified baccalaureate nurses into well-prepared nurse educators. Program content is centered around the teaching-learning process and focuses on the theoretical foundations of nursing education, curriculum development, instructional design and strategies, and assessment and evaluation in a variety of settings. Concurrently, forces that impact nursing education are explored.

Entry Requirements

Applicants possess a BSN degree from a nationally accredited program with an upper division grade point average of 3.0 or higher, have competitive scores on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT), and an unencumbered State of Florida RN License.
