Show More The UWS (University of the West of Scotland) MSc Advancing Practice is a flexible programme focused on practice and is delivered online. Overall the programme aims to facilitate healthcare professionals to achieve a qualification that is contemporary, relevant to practice and equips them with the knowledge and skills to transform practice. This programme offers four pathway Awards in Advanced Clinical Practice, Nursing, Cancer and Palliative Care and Care and Practice Improvement. The programme is relevant to all healthcare professionals and allows students to focus their learning on their own area of practice. In recent years a key focus within the NHS has been patient safety and with reports such as The Francis Enquiry (Francis, 2013) fuelling this issue, practice improvement has become a major theme in clinical practice. The MSc Advancing Practice embraces this theme as central to the programme. The two core modules, Quality Improvement in Healthcare and Knowledge Into Action, along with the Improvement Project Dissertation, focus student learning and development of skills on practice improvement methodology to enable them to make a significant contribution to improving practice and providing quality care. Entry RequirementsApplicants should normally have a first degree. Applicants with substantial professional experience may also be considered.
