Show More Managing and mitigating human impacts on the environment is crucial for New Zealand, and much of the world.
In New Zealand, our reputation depends on us becoming truly clean and green despite the increased pressure on the environment - and studying environmental science at Massey will give you the tools and understanding needed to help steer a sustainable path for the future. You’ll study a diverse range of subjects from ecology to philosophy and everything in between that encompasses this exciting field. Our researchers and teachers have an excellent reputation with publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and are often asked for their expert knowledge. So, you’ll be taught by experts in physical geography, soil biology, chemistry, freshwater management, ecological economics, environmental technology, and in sociology. Integrating these diverse fields is what an environmental scientist does - we’ll show you how! Massey graduates are in demand as they have a hands-on ability to get things done and know where to go for expertise. Entry RequirementsAll students must have a university entrance qualification, see Massey University undergraduate entry requirements. It is strongly recommended (but not compulsory) that students beginning their study of environmental science should have a sound background in at least one of biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent).. if you have not done NCEA Level 3 biology or physics you can take 162.103 Introductory Biology or 124.100 Introductory Physics before beginning your programme.
