Show More Creighton University’s Master of Science in school counseling and preventive mental health program is designed to prepare you for a counseling career in school systems. When you pursue an M.S. in school counseling, you’ll study a range of key issues and receive personalized attention from Creighton’s established education department and its faculty. Most of our faculty are full-time, tenured or tenure track faculty and are experts in the field. You may specialize in one of the following:
• Elementary Designed to fit easily into your busy schedule, this 2-year program includes 8-week online courses and a 9-month internship. Entry RequirementsA bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 3.0 GPA are required for admission to this program. Your application should include: Completed application and non-refundable $50 application fee Three letters of recommendation, to be completed and submitted by persons other than family members who are capable of assessing your performance in an academic or work setting Writing Sample: a personal statement on why you would like to be a counselor Official transcripts: from all colleges/universities attended Resume
Personal Interview (may be conducted virtually) Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Background Check: All prospective students are expected to successfully pass a background check before being admitted to the department.
