Show More Gain the knowledge and practical skills to compose, arrange, and orchestrate effective dramatic music for visual media, including film, television, and interactive media. The program begins with a set of core music and technology courses to provide both the conceptual foundation in music theory and the technical foundation in a digital audio workstation to record, sequence, and mix music for visuals. From there, you will study the works of master composers and innovators and analyze the role of music in a dramatic medium. You will work through a series of composition and orchestration courses designed to teach specific techniques and develop your ability to write and write often. You will then apply these skills to upper-level course work across various genres of film, television, and interactive media. By the end of the program, you will have a portfolio of diverse compositions for film, television, and interactive media, in addition to a career advancement plan that includes a professional resume and strategy for securing work and adapting to changes in the music industry. Entry RequirementsThe board of admissions takes into consideration both academics as well as aptitude for music business and music production studies. Berklee Online does not have specific GPA or test score requirements, nor does it have any specific class ranking requirements. Applicants must have proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking, and must have completed high school/secondary school by the time they enroll at Berklee Online. International Applicants/Students who have studied outside the United States International applicants and those applicants who have studied outside the United States must submit official transcripts for evaluation by an accredited credential evaluation agency, such as the Education Credential Evaluators (www.ece.org). Ask for a course-by-course evaluation with grades. TOEFL Requirements Applicants to the degree program whose first language is not English are required to submit a PTE Academic, TOEFL or IELTS score to complete their application for admission.
